The Common team alongside the Lindors Wood Steering Group held a meeting at the St Briavels Assembly Room on Thursday 10 April. On a balmy spring evening, the bar was open and so were the doors to the venue overlooking the beautiful Wye Valley. It was a good job there was a patio space as over 100 residents attended the event (with apologies from 30 more), and we ran out of chairs, a demonstration of the community’s interest in acquiring 100 acres of mixed woodland for future generations.

After the presentations, there was a wide-ranging Q+A with the community. Following this, a strong majority show of hands offered a mandate to move forward and begin negotiations with the agent and vendor, to secure the land. With the Lindors Wood Facebook group up and running, and a new mailing list, the community can expect updates shortly as we collaborate on the delivery of this project.
